The tripod acts as the anchorage point for most typical rescue systems. Tripods are used for lifting and lowering materials and personnel via the hoist/winch, while having the ability to use an SRL in conjunction with the rest of the system for fall arrest and emergency evacuation. Tripods have a wide foot print that makes this a very stable anchor and attachment point above the access area.
